It is simply randomly parted sections (squares, triangles, diamonds) as many or as few as you'd like or have the time for. With this particular style we ended up with 6 braids. A quick and easy tip: put the hair in 4-6 braids then after a day or 2 split each braid into and change out the hair tie colors or accessories for a new look!
